I received a call from 202-239-2883 stating that there was a lawsuit filed against me. I have received several calls from this same number. Total scam I am sure; however, I do not want to be bothered again from this number.
Received several calls from this number alleging a tax suit is to be filed. This total nonsense. If the IRS is to file an action against a taxpayer, it would most likely come after an informal or formal audit where you would at least be heard. Then, if the matter remains unresolved, there would be a formal process involving the filing of a complaint in federal, not "county" court, service would be made directly to the respondent/ defendant, after which there is a formal answer to the complaint, and then the games begin!
This is either a telemarketing scam or a shakedown. I've reported this to the IRS so hopefully this will soon stop.
IRS PHONE CALL total scam ,, just had shouting match with Officer Jack Cooper , he called my d*** Sucker, mother f****** because i wanted more info on the case then told him he was full of s***
I got the same call two days in a row. It said I was named in a lawsuit without saying my name. They didn't identify who they were or who they represented. I did not call the number given because I have heard that sometimes people end up paying 10 dollars a minute on their phone bill.
