i got a call today from these ppl saying i took out a loan of over 14000 dollars and he even had a police department call me, scard the hell out of me. he was saying that i cold be facing jail time if i didnt pay any ways i ended up calling the police department and it turns up the was nothing on me and they said that in the past they had these problems before THEY SAID DONT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION.
these people called, stating he was Mark Williams, and a criminal case was being sought against me..Also states he works for the Bureau of Criminal Investigation at the US Dept.of Treasury...thick accent..
got a call from my office, saying that the sheriff was going to come and arrest me, that i should give "Mark Williams" a call, both had thick accents, I kept asking me why I was being "arrested" on what "charges" and what department/office/state they were from. they got really frustrated with me, I was yelling back that they weren't answering my questions, so I hung up and ignored their calls. Can't believe they called my office first with this [***]. Whatever you do, don't give them any info. I'm glad I didn't lose my cool, but their heavy indian accents is just obvious.
Received a call from what looked like our local sheriff office stating that there was a warrant out for my arrest and I was to call this number - supposedly the dept of justice - and ask for attorney Daniel Obrien.
I was startled to say the least. I called our local sheriff and asked about this - was transfered to the warrant division - they checked and found no warrant for my arrest. Told them about the call and they said most likely a scam of some kind. Upon further thinking about it...if it WAS real - the sheriff would have been at my door to arrest me - not calling to tell me!
I was going to call the number just to see what type of scam they were trying, but after reading some other posts, decided it may be more dangerous that what it would be worth. Just beware!
Number I was to call -- 202-239-5284 X9211 Atty Daniel Obrien
