I received the same message as listed in these posts. The message was for my husband and it was left at 2:33 p.m. on March 26, 2014. The caller had a heavy accent and stated that his name as officer Frank Miller. There was a lot of background noise. He said that there was a warrant for my husband's arrest and left his number for my husband to call the phone number 202 241-0697. We figured out that the IRS does not have officers and the message did not make any sense so we did not call. Also, reading the other posts, it was a confirmation for me that this is a scam.
I just got a message similar to those stated above. Scared me a bit but my husband knew better and then I found this on the internet. Thank-you all for posting.
I got call from this number 3 times today. The woman on the phone was so rude. I also 2 messages on ans machine. Then I looked it up and found out it was a scam. Thanks for everyone's post.
I was left a message at 7:29 on March 28th that told me to call back an 'officer' at this number; my caller ID showed this number as well. The caller, a woman with a heavy accent, identified herself as 'Wendy Watson'. I could not clearly understand everything she said but she was calling about some kind of fraud. Out of curiousity I called the number back at about 8:30 this morning and I received an answering machine indicating it was the IRS. I was supposed to leave my name and number. It all sounded fake so I came to check it out online.
We got same script as above. Caller identified as Homeland Security Criminal Investigation, and one of our residents was under investigation and would be arrested in half an hour. Man with a Chinese or Asian accent and woman with an Indian accent. Very rude and threatening. We asked for authentication and got a federal badge #, but when we pushed further for validation, the phoner hung up on us.
