just received same call :officer Julie Smith robotic voice, scammers, IRS does not call you they send out certified mail and then you march down to your local office and handle it, never call t's always a scam.
Same thing, Jane Smith robotic voice from IRS asked for me to call the hotline before they take any actions against me?! Sounds fishy, they did not mention my name and I did not receive any letters from the IRS before. It is a scam, but how can they use the IRS's name?!
It is a scam. Do not bother calling back. The IRS always uses mail to initiate contact with taxpayers for tax issues. They also never threaten arrest unless you pay immediately nor do they accept Green Dot Money Pack cards or any other untraceable payment methods for tax liabilities. report them to US Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration
