I started asking this "Jeff" guy/lawyer some questions about who he is, his law firm, location and he eventually started answering me with YUP & NOPE answers. He finally hung up on me. CROOKS
I RECEIVED AN EMAIL STATING THAT THEY WOULD BE FILING IN COURT IN A COUPLE OF HOURS AND A SHERIFF WOULD SHOW UP AT MY JOB, POSSIBLY CAUSING TERMINATION OF MY POSITION.
MY FIRST CLUE WAS THE INCREDIBLY BAD GRAMMAR AND POOR PUNCTUATION FROM A "LAWYER" JUST FROM THE WAY IT WAS WRITTEN I COULD TELL THE PERSON DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH. THE EMAIL ADDRESSED ME AS "DEAR SIR/MADAME" YOU THINK IF THE SHERIFF WERE COMING TO MY JOB THEY MIGHT KNOW MY NAME, MAYBE AT LEAST MY GENDER.
THESE MAGGOTS ARE A SCAM. I JUST FEEL SORRY FOR THE POOR ELDERLY OR GULLIBLE TYPES THAT WILL FALL FOR THIS SCAM. BEWARE PEOPLE. ANYONE SUING YOU OR TRYING TO COLLECT MONEY IS GOING TO HAVE YOUR NAME, PHONE NUMBER AND WILL SERVE YOU WITH COURT DOCUMENTS OR LEGAL LETTER.....
Neither phone, fax or email are valid methods of "serving" someone. Please do forward a copy of the email to the FBI at their Internet Crime Complaint Center - www.ic3.gov. Do NOT respond to the email and do not open any attachments since these may contain viruses/malware/spyware. Glad you didn't fall for the scam!
