Just got the same phone call as above. This is the second time in 2 days.  I told the 1st caller to take me off their list and not to call, They called again today and  she told me not to yell at her when I told her I wasn't interested and not to call and she hung up on me.  This is insane.  Don't fall for it.

I got a call from this number. Since it was a DC # I answered it becaues I have dealings in DC. When I said hello all I got was a recording of a lady that said "Good Bye". However, a few days before that I got a call from a # with a bunch of 00000's and the man had an Indian accent and kept trying to tell me something, but I couldn't understand him, so I hung up. He tried to call back, but I didn't answer and he didn't leave a message. Freaking Scammers.

Claiming to be from the US Government - Office of Grants.  I stated I was on the National Do Not Call Registry and that I was reporting them.  This Indian lady got extremely belligerent and stated I was going to be called every hour on the hour for days and days - she was going to pass my number around to everyone in her office to call and harass me.  I hung up.  My phone then began to ring - I declined the call.  Again it rang - I declined the call.  I have voicemail messages with nothing on it but background noise of a room full of them calling other folks.

I have reported this to the National Registry - but they can do nothing.  Why doesn't iPhone offer an app for this stuff.  And there is no pro-active government agency to stop this that I know of.

Sprint lets you block 50 numbers on your iPhone.  But you can only do that by logging into your account on the computer.

You can always assign a silent ring tone to a name in your address book (suggested name: "Roster, Fecal"), so that the iPhone does not ring when they call and the name you assigned e.g., "Fecal Roster," shows on the phone when they do call, even though the phone does not ring.  This works on any iPhone on any carrier, but because there is no silent ring tone supplied by Apple, you will have to either make one or download one and install it yourself.  There are instructions on how to do this elsewhere on this board and on the Internet, and perhaps also on YouTube.  Look it up.

Sprint and Google Voice seem to have some sort of special relationship whereby you may be able to port a Google Voice number to your Sprint cell phone and then have Google screen your incoming calls for you and handle your voice mail.  I wouldn't want to do this myself due to privacy concerns I have, but you may want to consider this as another option.  If I am not mistaken, you could block a lot of different numbers using this method and gain a large number of extra free features on your phone, such as simultaneous ringing of several of your phone lines at once and cheap overseas calls.  I don't know what all this does to cell phone 911 services, however, and you might not be able to get a "local" number or area code assigned to you, depending on the popularity of the service in your area.  And I have heard some (rather old) horror stories about neither Sprint nor Google being helpful when things have gone wrong.  But that was a long time ago, and maybe things have changed (or were not so bad in the first place).

Repeated calls from this number, and asking them to stop seems to even increase the frequency of calls. Caller is sometimes male and sometimes female but always with an accent that sounds Indian (India), claiming that I've qualified for something that requires money up front on my part. The strong accents of the callers makes it difficult to even know what they're saying. In addition, they ask for April, and when I say there's never been an "April" here, they proceed to do their pitch on me. Saying "no thank you" has no effect and every call ends with me just hanging up. At the time of this writing, I've received more than sixty calls from this number in total, so it seems that "No" is not an acceptable response to these people.
