I got two calls from this number and received the same messages as the rest of you about the lawsuit. These @ssh@les are wasting my time, as I went all the way downtown on my lunch break to the IRS office. The line was 3 hours long. Luckily I bailed and came back to google the number. SO RUDE AND SO ILLEGAL!!
May 8, 2015: consistent with all of the other comments left on this web site, I received a "robo-call" indicating it was the IRS and that they were filing a lawsuit against me (final notice!) and that I had to call 202-864-1229 to fix the problem. WHAT A JOKE! While I'm tempted to call them and mess with them (i.e., give them some of their own medicine), I don't have the time. IGNORE THEM!
May 8, 2015 / 9:00 am. Received call saying they were IRS and unable to get in touch with us.....they were filing a lawsuit and we needed to call them immediately at 202-864-1229. I blocked my number and called them and call would not go thru....SCAM big time!
Robo call .. caller I.D. states Washington D.C. Same as everyone else, except my message was left at 5 a.m.! True, I am on the west coast.. but the I.R.S. isn't going to waste a call on a disabled woman who makes so little money that she hasn't had to pay a tax in 7 years. "Final notice"? um okay scammers, try to get blood from this turnip!
"... reach you. This call is officially a final notice from the IRS Internal Revenue Services. The reason that this call is to inform you the IRS has filed a lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file please call immediately on our department number 202-864-1229 I repeat 202-864-1229. Thank you"
This was a robotic female voice that seems to think the IRS is plural, "this this call" is correct syntax in America, or the IRS would have my cell number. Hahaha I did notify the IRS - BTW they contact you by mail - never the phone
