Got a call from an Indian (accented) lady saying that she represents the IRS and that she wants to discuss some tax "challenges" with me... Is this a scam???
Got a call from an Indian (accented) lady saying that she represents the IRS and that she wants to discuss some tax "challenges" with me... Must be a scam???
Indian speaking female using the name Lisa Dawson calling "Mr. Smith there is a Federal Tax Lien Warrant out on you."...I asked her who she is with..."the IRS"...First of all I know I have no Federal Tax Lien...I told her this, she said, "Okay then don't worry about it." and hung up...This infuriated me...I called back, got and got an answering message with a male voice(Indian) that merely said, "we are busy right now."...I called back again, and got "Ms Dawson"...asked what kind of scam are you running?"..."Mr. Smith, do you really think I would really try and run a scam on you?"...Told her I was going to call the police...She said, "Fine, I will talk tot them too."...What kind of legitimate person, especially the IRS conducts themselves in this manner?
Same number just called my husband saying that a warrant for his arrest will be issued for money laundering meanwhile he doesn't even have a bank account and is not working right now. She to said she was from the IRS and said they sent him a letter last week. She didn't verify the address and the minute I got on the line and said for them to forward the I formation to us so a lawyer can review the call magically dropped.
