Got a call from an Indian (accented) lady saying that she represents the IRS and that she wants to discuss some tax "challenges" with me... Is this a scam???
This number called me 4-5 times over the last few weeks and left messages about the same, being IRS and that there is a lien/warrant for my arrest if I don't settle. There is no lien and IRS will not call a taxpayer like that. She said her name is Lisa.
I just received call from same Pearson same scam and she sounded very legitimate saying that she is just informing me about immediate arrest and not demanding money, but transferred me to his boss from " investigation department" , and he asked the immediate verification of payment " in order to settle the charge", and I told without paperwork I won't pay a penny and do as they wish.
It is scary that they have my cell number and home address. They should be stopped. I am reporting them to the police.
The same thing happened to me today, about the same time as M&m. The caller had an Indian accent, and demanded 4,000 dollars, and if I disconnected the call, within 30 minutes, they would send a warrant for my arrest. She transferred the phone to her "so-called-head-of-department" named Eric, who didn't have any accent and sounded like a white man. It's kind of scary since they know my cell phone number and name. We should do something to stop this scam!!!
Some woman named Lisa Jordan threatened to process my arrest warrant for back tax if I supposedly don't pay within the hour. That makes no sense from the IRS. Plus they would sent mails rather than call personally for such a small amount. IRS apparently mailed me this information in December. But since IRS don't send anything in December or me even receiving anything since I personally check mails, this sounded really like fraud. But when they said they wanted me to resolve this in an hour and buy a voucher to send the payment, that was totally fraud. Unless the caller I.D says unknown or more importantly has a D.C area code, odds are, its a scam
