PLEASE keep us updated on your idea of penalties against American telephone carriers. Please instruct all of us on what you believe we should be doing NOW. Something would have to be passed in order for us to follow-up with the police department, with them then issuing citations/heavy fines to the phone companies, etc.
Keep us posted on your results and what you think our next steps should be.
6/23/14 - As noted previously - rec'd call - no message left, when I went to return call, got a disconnected number message. Probable Craigslist Scammer.
It's some solar power service that promises more than they likely can deliver. For one: they promise to not bombard you with service providers - only one solar consultant to call and discuss the available savings, etc. - and that turns out to be a big, bogus lie. They pretend to offer you great deal on electric power - and to connect you with a single solar service consultant who can guide you through free installation of solar panels on your roof, free insurance, maintenance, and guaranteed lower electric bills - and even if you are careful to request...in advance (in as many cautious ways that you can word that you are wary of scams which distribute your contact number to phone calling hacks)...that they provide you with no more than a single contact (and not to distribute your number), they contact the whole freaking world...and they all start calling as if you had initiated an 'interest in solar power and contacted them'. A scam...and, of course, you cannot dial the number back and connect with anyone. So, then it becomes time to block every darn number from every caller that contacts a person...or to hesitate before wondering whether a person is risking not answering calls from potential (real) clients. Can't something be done to get Congress to get these low-life, telemarketers off our backs? Or does Congress completely 'do nothing' with everything these days? While I agree we need to increase employment, employing more telemarketers or scammers isn't the way to go...while everyone is spending countless hours of wasted productivity trying to get away from these clowns.
They called, I saw the unfamiliar number on my cell, hit ignore.
Telemarketing is not a job that improves the economy. It should be banned permanently, made illegal. If people want a particular product or service, they should be allowed to shop for it themselves.
How do you block an unwanted call on a cellphone, anyway?
