Hello,
Thank you for reporting these unwanted calls and bringing them to our attention. We at Spok (formerly known as USA Mobility) wanted to respond and let you know that we are not affiliated with this practice, and these calls constitute an illegal activity known as spoofing. Whoever is responsible for these telemarketing calls has misrepresented Spok as the ID associated with this phone number, which belongs to another wireless provider, and not a number associated with Spok in any way.
Furthermore, Spok wants to assure you that our company, which provides critical communication solutions to hospitals and health systems, emergency responders, and other corporate customers does not use telemarketers in any capacity targeting individual consumers nor do we encourage any individual or company to perform telemarketing services on our behalf.
Spok routinely reports such unlawful incidents of spoofing to the telephone companies that serve individuals like yourself who receive improper telemarketing calls, and we encourage you to also contact your local provider directly with your concern. Additionally you may also want to report this spoofing incident to the Federal Communications Commission as Spok is working in collaboration with federal officials to address these unlawful spoofing incidents to enlist the backing of the full enforcement authority of the FCC to deter this practice.
All of us at Spok understand the inconvenience these calls may provide and want to reassure you that Spok takes your unfortunate experience very seriously and has and will continue to undertake efforts to try to prevent this activity from reoccurring in the future.
Thank you again for bringing this matter to our attention.
Sincerely,
Spok Customer Support Team
