Telemarketing for the Police Benevolent Association. Only problem is, most of the money donated pays these marketing companies and not the actual police. Donate in person, locally. Do NOT waste your money on supporting this telephone harassment!
I just got a call from this same number looking for a "William". Told the man he had the wrong number so he proceeded to say "well maybe you can help me, I'm calling from the CTPD charity fund and we are collecting $ for families of officers who have lost their life while on duty". I told him I already donate to my local PD and he just hung up. SCAM
This same number has called many times -- My mother had died and we received many calls so even though it came up as an unknown number, I answered this time thinking it was something having to do with funeral arrangements, etc. He asked for my mother - I told him she had just died and he asked me if I would like to donate instead! What a jerk!!! The non-profit callers are out in full force, and most of them are paid solicitors working for the organizations.
