I had a similar experience today. A person asked for our CEO by name, and when I asked for his name he said Kevin Taylor. When I transferred the call to our CEO, he hung up. Is he just trying to verify names in companies?
Someone from this number (caller ID shows Wolcott, CT) called and asked for my boss, but he butchered the pronounciation of his name. This generally indicates someone trying to sell an investment. When I started to say my boss was away today, the caller hung up on me half-way through the statement. This DEFINITELY indicates someone cold-calling. How ignorant!
Same thing today, except the caller, identifying himself as Kevin from Columbus (name of his business) said he had sent a FedEx package and wanted to make sure our CEO received it. I told him that I handle all packages; he muttered that he'd ask his secretary and abruptly hung up. These types of calls come in every day.
I got the same call....This time it came up Olympia and his name was Kevin. I said "we got disconnected, can I help you?" he then said I have the wrong number.
Called our office asking for the owner by name, also the name of the business, and identified himself as Kevin from Columbia, I asked for his number, he said my boss had it, I asked for his number again, he asked me why I needed his number. I asked him why he needed to speak to my boss. He said he needed to talk to him about a FedEx package they spoke about earlier. I then told him he should know that my boss isn't even in this state right now. He said he would call his cell and hung up.
