I also got emails from this guy asking me to do the same thing. After I gave him a ridiculous elevated price he told me that he was ok with it. That’s when I realized something is not right and looked for him on the net. See the email below.

Well I was scammed a couple months ago by a guy that order several basic poker tables from me.  He wanted them ASAP so I ordered the materials and starting working on them the next day.  I normally wait until I get a deposit but he said he wanted them in two weeks.  He was going to stop over and pick them up but then something came up and he had to go back to his home, which happened to be Ghana.  He gave me a shipping company who wanted me to pay in advance.  I talked to the shipper as it sounded okay but I had my concerns.  I've shipped enough tables that I know they're not going to require payment before I have them boxed up and weighed. I realize this was a scam when after I already had the bases cut out and he kept giving me excuses about the deposit being delayed.  I did an internet search and found his name associated with scams.  He didn't get any money out of me but I did purchase materials and spent a weekend working on tables that I haven't sold yet.  This guy's name is Bernard Hill so watch for him too. Friggin POS.

Now I get this email and the guy wanted a quote for 8 tables but didn't require a shipping estimate and he just wanted a basic table (which nobody orders).  I asked where he was from as maybe he was from around the area (Omaha).  He then gave me an address in Alabama.  I found the address on the web and it was a business address.  I asked if he worked there and he said yes.  He doesn't want it shipped there though but wanted it shipped to Sweden.  He kept asking if I took credit cards and I said I would but he has to pay a 1k deposit by check first.  He hasn't replied yet.  His name is Steve Ludd [email protected].  I found his name on this forum which confirmed my suspicions.  Anyway, I thought I'd post this too to help with the internet search results.

We checked on shipping product  wth the Total weight $25 lbs .Picking it up from your location to Sweden,And its going to cost ( $2,850.80 ).That includes international airway taxes ( I.A.T), Tarrifs and custom's clearance duties.It takes approximately  2-3 days for delivery from the day of pick-up.

I guess these POS never give up. Here it is Jan 2011 and I just got the same scam.
What can we do to them???  it could still be doable..!!!
This one has two owners: Mr. Andrew Gold (owner) Mr. John (owner) see 2 e-mails below.
They are not smart enough to edit their e-mails.
I e-mailed back and forth with them and then I never heard from them when I told them I must have their
credit card number for my processor to approve all out of the country sales before we do anything.
He even called me once, but I could not understand the accent. I begged him to e-mail, so he did, see below.
I told them to pay the freight co. with their credit card and  they told me the freight co does not take credit cards.!!!!  I had to pay the freight co.
