Just got a call said hello & they hung up. I hate being asked for donations, but hate it more to be hung up on. At least if they ask for donations I know who it is & I can tell them not to call me again.
After seeing this number on my caller ID everyday, at all hours of the day, for months, I picked up when they called at 9:08 a.m. today. As soon as I heard the call center background noise, I hung up. I hope this gets me out of their calling cycle.
This number calls daily at all hours. They have been told to remove our number from their list, and the calls go on!!! I am on all the do not call lists I can get on. Appears to do no good at all!!!! What in the world!!!!!!! I am sooooooooo sick of ttelemarketing calls. What can we do? I refuse to give money or information over the phone!!!!!!
I called the number back. There was a voice recording that provided another number to call. I called that number and it lead me to a company that sells magazine subscriptions under the notion that your participation would be considered to be a donation to the Special Olympics. It is not a non-profit organization. Its just another way for telemarketers to get to you via the phone and call it "legal." If you are wondering why you are getting these calls even if you are on the government's "do not call" list, it is because this telemarketer claims to be asking for donations, when in fact they are actually trying to sell you a magazine subscription.
