I got the same call from these people saying that they want to give me a grant for paying my taxes and never being in trouble with the law before.. They said they are from the 2nd floor at health services and his name was Thomas Smith. He said there address was 200 Independence Ave. S. West Washington D.C 20201. Do not believe these people i called him out on his [***] lie and he hung up on me. They want to steal your money. They want your drivers license number or last 4 of your sos. DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM!!!
Because they are calling either from India or Pakistan is how! We have no jurisdiction in those country's and unless their governments co-operate with ours to put a stop to it there is nothing we can do.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
Indian guy who can barely pronounce english saying he works for the federal government grants. Wants my bank info. I asked for his address ( 201 independance ave washington d.c.) this guy could not produce a federal id # and got nervous when i questioned his exact location (which is not inside US). He hung up. scammers for sure.
