I got the same call. Figured it was a scam but thought I'd entertain the fool anyway. She told me she needed me to write something down. Said her name was "Penny Jones, ID# IRM2469." Her name is clearly not Penny Jones! She was definitely someone from India. Told me I owed the Feds over $4600 and gave me 3 options to pay up. She said if I wanted, I could hire an attorney to fight the charges, but recommended I hire a CRIMINAL attorney. She said if I didn't respond, the IRS were on their way to my house to take my driver's license (LOL!) and my "things." I told her to tell them they better pack a lunch! I told her to have someone who speaks English to call me back and she said "ma'am, that cannot happen!" She said, lthe IRS has already called you 4 times." I told her to send me something by mail in ENGLISH and after I reviewed it I would call her back. Then she asked me if I had enough money in my savings account to cover my debt. I laughed and hung up.
