They get numbers from a variety of sources. Usually info from on-line payday loan applications which is bought and sold readily. Also they cold be just random computer-based dialing. Invest in a call blocker and do not pick up on numbers you do not recognize.
totally automated voice message, very poor quality. Stated "From the IRS and that I had committed tax fraud and insisted I call back at this # 206-201-2540
This number called me. Said my husband had a warrant for his arrest for tax fraud. I called the police and the iIRS. Complete BS. I called him a back and cussed his [***] out. I think it's time for everyone to start harassing him.
Stated that I had an arrest warrant for tax fraud. Even gave me a warrant number. I started asking for names and what the charges were in detail, and the person hung up. I called back and demanded to speak to a supervisor and the "IRS Officer" stated that he needed to take care of this problem before I was arrested! Saw on local news that this was happening.
