I received the same email that everyone else has been getting and thought it was a little weird the buyer didn't want to see the horse in person or even pick it up himself, also the way he worded some of the emails is what made me want to google him.  Good thing we goggled this guy! You can report him to the US Secret Service Financial Crimes Division 202-406-5572. Maybe enough people reporting this guy we can stop it. Below are the emails from this guy.

I wrote him back with some images of the horse and final asking price and he sent back this email.  He replied below:




Hi Dani,
Thanks for the response concerning the sale of the horse...I m okay with the price of $300.00 you have stated.i am scheduled to travel now on a business engagement and this will last me Two weeks but i believe this doesn't stop this transaction as i will be informing my business associate  to make out a cashier's Check Or Money Order to you . The funds my client company owes me is in excess of your asking price and the excess on the cheque will be for the shipping.

Upon the receipt of the Check Or Money Order ,i prefer you have the balance forward to the shipper for preparation of pick-up and shipping.

Deduct your own amount and additional($50) for cashing of the cheque then transfer the balance  to the shipping company that will handle the pick up,i have other consignment which will also be pick up by them,they will be responsible for signing of all document relating to this transaction.

provide me with have the following information.

Recipient Address.
Phone Number..

I m waiting to hear from you with the required information so that my Associate can issue and mail out the check-payment.Your address,phone number and map location with be forward to the shippers for them to come over to your location for the pick-up and delivery after the payment has been received,cleared and balance being forward to them.Thanks

I'm glad I checked this guy's email online as he replied to my western show halter just now.  I thought the message sounded rather strange, so I wanted to double check.  Glad I did!  Definitely not replying to the email now.

This is a similar scam we ran into a few years ago when I posted a horse for sale.  The guy sent us a cashier's check and we took it to our bank and they said it was not valid.  He wanted us to give him the difference between what we wanted for the horse and the shipping fees.  I just posted another horse for sale and got this email from Renee Ryan:

Hello Seller,
Good Day...I veiw your (horse) for sale..that is why am interested in your (horse) Posted for sale ,please get back to me with the last offer Price and also let me know the Present Condition of the (horse),do send me the recent photos of the (horse),I will want you to get these information to me asap and Let me know the Reason why you want to sell the (horse). Don't worry about the pickup i will take care of that myself Without Any Stressing you, looking forward to read from you soonest today.

I wish there was a way to stop the scamming.

I got the same email and have received several different ones but it's in regard to my AKC registered boxer puppies had several of them.  they're all scams.

Complete Scam I am sure!  Evidently going by the name of James Smith now but exact same phone number.  Responded to an ad I have on Horse Classifieds for a Horse Trailer I have for Sale.  Email was not written in plain English which always raises a flag with me as most scam emails are written that way.  Additionally he wanted pictures (which are already online) wanted to know the final asking price (pricing information is in the ad) and wanted to close the deal quickly (RED FLAG!).    Did a google search of the number and was brought to this webpage.  Glad I checked.  Have not responded and do not intend to.  Will report it to the Horse Classified's site.  Thanks everyone for sharing so we all can be aware of scams!
