Who called from 2063373798

This number was used as contact number in an email response to a craigslist ad I had posted.  The poor use of the English language in the email and the promise of a certified check for $50 more than my selling price coupled with the fact that I am in Pennsylvania and this area code is from Washington leads me to believe that his number is from a craigslist scammer. BEWARE!!

How did you find out they were scammers?

what is this? What kind of scam can this be?? does anyone know???

I'm also in the process of an attempted scan by someone at this number.  They use the e-mail address [email protected] and a few other gmail accounts.  The scam is they state they're interested in buying your Craigslist item and pretend (using spoof e-mails) to pay via PayPal.  The amount they "transfer" includes an overpayment so that you can then wire payment for shipping to their shipping company via Western Union, whose address they provide you.  In my case, they "transferred" $750 on a $450 item and instructed me to wire them the $300 "payment" to them via Western Union.  

I've reported them to PayPal, Western Union, and the FBI.  If they've attempted to scam you, you should do the same.  Go here (www.ic3.gov/) to report online scams to the FBI.
