This "male" calling himself "David" reached out to my husband and I from a recent post through Craigslist. He keeps insisting to only do business through a personal check and that he will have a mover come pick the item up. Although we repeatedly asked if a money order or cashiers check was possible he said he wouldn't be willing to do that but had no explanation. He continued to insist that although he goes through manufacturer bank his personal heck would process immediately and to "just do it and go to the bank" when we were specifically told through our bank that it wouldn't process for 3-4 days. If you get any texts from this number because they not once answered to speak verbally over the phone I highly suggest you don't let yourself give in to it especially because they can be dangerous can be living close by and can obviously be able to commit fraud. Be safe everyone.
Money Orders and cashiers checks can be forged also. They also do a fake paypal scam as well. Your best bet is to ask for cash only. Not wanting to talk and having a huge excuse to not speak via phone is a big clue, the checks are always for well over the price asked and then they want you to send the excess on to a mover or someone they say will pick up the item. Then the check bounces better then a super ball in a concrete room.

i just received the same text from 'David" offering to buy my car, but he asked about the condition... clearly stated in the ad, there was no reason to ask me this. obviously this is the same scammer
