This was someone who said they worked at IRS and there was a warrant out for my arrest because of tax evasion. They knew I had recently moved to a new city and said because I had not reported my move to IRS I owed $2500. They wanted me to withdraw money from my bank and wire it to them. When I wanted to see the paperwork they had supposedly sent to my old address he changed the subject. He got very hostile at the end of the conversation when I refused to give in to his request and told me not to tell anyone of this conversation. I guess I won't be arrested anytime soon. The caller had a distinct Indian accent, which was a definite red flag.
These calls are so irritating - picked up the phone to an automated message saying this was my "last warning", at which point I hung up. Looked at caller ID and saw the 206-973-7888 number from Seattle so I called it. Yes, I'm in a bad mood. Some Asian/Indian sounding clown actually answered the phone with "IRS" and I told him to take my number off their call list. He had the NERVE to say, "and why is that?" - to which I responded that I know the Internal Revenue Service does NOT do telephone solicitations/warnings. Of course, he hung up on me. The good new is that I have this phone number and will call it whenever I feel like screwing with this creep. Grrrrr
206-973-7888Called saying that they were from IRS and there was a warrant against me for tax evasion. Asked if I had received a call from my police dept. I said no, asked if I was aware of the evasion, i said no. Maybe something in the tone of my voice was not nice we got disconnected.
