I turned on anonymous call reject due to calls where no one said anything.
the next, got this one at the same time of day....shows unknown with this number - no message left- I think it is the same caller
they are saying they are from Windows on my computer with very heavy accent. I believe next would have been telling me there is a problem with my computer and they need remote access to fix it and a credit card. I've heard of this scam.
They called me too about 10 minutes ago, a guy with a heavy Hindu accent was telling me that my computer was being internally corrupt. Then he told me to go to www.join.me, which is a screen sharing website and then he told me to connect to a call and to wait, but after that I just hung up and they called again but I didnt answer.
I got a call last night on my mom's phone number saying there was a problem with a Windows 7 computer, my computer was connecting to the Internet and sending out error messages. I asked if it was a desktop or laptop and he said it could be either one. He said I needed to go get on my computer and he would walk me through how to fix it. I told him I had tech support and would call them and hung up. I could hear the noises of a call center in the back, it sounded like a lot of people doing this scam.
