I've been several calls from this number and they NEVER leave a message. I just received another call about an hour ago and the lady said she was with AT&T, asked how much I'm paying for home phone service, and when I told her she is calling my WORK number, she started talking in a very rude voice like she was mocking me. She said "well, this was a residencial number before, so we didn't know" and was unwarrantly rude. I said to not call my number again and hung up on her. However, I doubt that the calls will stop. My caller i.d. said it was a wireless call and when I tried to call it back it never rang, just silence then hangs up.
A couple of hang ups or no message calls the past few days. I recently added some services to my phone because I wanted to, so now I bet they are trying to sell me even more stuff. I suspect it's Internet or cable since the representative tried to sell it to me when I called.
Ironically, I HAD to call them because they were charging me for long distance when I never call long distance!! They removed it, then offered a package that is lower in rates. Now I'm wondering if they are doing it on purpose, so you have to call. Then, they start their sales pitch.....
The Caller ID actually said "AT&T", but whether it's really them or not, I don't want to talk to them unless it's necessary (as in the bogus charges). I've gotten many calls from them in the past, from various numbers. It was either a Texas area code or a toll-free area code, with "Unknown Name" as the ID. I went to this site to see it was AT&T.
I heard on a comedy that AT&T means "American Thieves and Thugs", LOL.
Why do you assume it is AT&T just because they say so? Do you think scammers can't claim to be AT&T or some other company? Do you think they can't falsify caller id. Obviously it is not a real AT&T call, they are phishing to get your info. People are SO gullible.
Get an average of a call a day from these idiots. They are not AT&T. They are trying to sell some sort of phone service. Terrible, terrible. Anyone have an idea of how to make it stop? Thanks.
I've been getting calls from this number for a month, now. There's always dead silence on the other end. Someone has too much time on their hands. To echo MarkS, is there a way to stop it?
