They called me 3 times and hung up each time when the answering machine came on. On the 4th time, they started to leave a message about bringing legal action against me for not paying my taxes. So I picked up the phone and was told that they wanted to represent me in legal action with the IRS. I knew that I didn't have any issues with the IRS. She became very belligerent with me and told me to shut up and listen to her or they would proceed in prosecuting me. Of course I hung up on her and they have not called back.
Received same call with same phone # and name on caller ID. Caller left voice mail message. This is that IRS scam where they claim the IRS is taking legal action against you. They want you to call the phone number provided, and they will try to get you to send them money to pay off your "unpaid taxes". It is a total scam. If you keep getting calls from this number, report it to the Federal Trade Commission.
This is the 3rd person in a IRS scam that I have talked to today. This is the so called police officer that is supposidly comming to arrest me because I said I would pay the for my "tax default" I know this to be a scam so I am playing along as a 'dumb blond'. I have friends in law enforcement. However, I told them that I cant get to Safeway to get $3,120 in 'ReLoad It' vouchers cause they do not do Western Union any more....
