I also just got a call from this number, with the same exact story. Saying my MS Windows Computer was infected and sending out viruses. They got my # from the IP. Whatever, I am an Systems Administrator for a software company and immediately know this is BS. I have seen many people fall for this crap, don't be one of them! Block the number and report it.
This outfit called my cell number twice during the afternoon. Caller ID came up only with "San Antonio TX" and the number. We happen to have relatives in San Antonio so I was tempted to answer, but followed my better judgment and just let it ring.
I realize these scammers are located outside US jurisdiction, but I think our telecommunications industry ought to be smart enough to detect both spoofing and robodialing, and block the calls from arriving here.
I laughed at the guy and told him it was a scam and leave me alone. He called back repeatedly and then left a message saying, "listen honey, you better pick up when I call" The thick accent disappeared....
