Received a phone message from a Robert Davis of the Dept. of Legal Affairs on our landline today. Said he had a important legal matter that I need to call him back asap or have my attorney call him back. What a bunch of crap. The scammers are everywhere. I will not call the number back but will report to our local police department. He had a thick accent. Like he was from india or some place similiar. These people need to get a real job.!!!! and leave us alone.
Called saying it was Harris with the US Treasury Department of Legal Affairs and that my husband needed to call him back about an important legal matter. Huh?
Called say they were with the U.S. Treasure Dept. and that I would be arrested if I did not listen to the charges against me. If I interrupted I would be looking at 6 months in jail. Guess I am going to jail. (o)
Received call from 213-259-8309. Person stated that he was calling from the U.S. Treasury Department
and that I owed back taxes from 2010. He also let me know that by tomorrow I would be arrested at my work and spend 6 months in jail. I shared with this person that "yes" I did actually have a criminal attorney who would be willing to speak anybody at the U.S. Treasury Department at this number. I got a thank you for your time and I would be contacted by mail.
I got a voice mail on my home land answering machine from a guy who called himself James and said that he is from Legal Affairs and I have to do the right thing and call back at 213-259-8309. Tried to call but constantly shows busy signals. [***]....
"James" from the Department of Legal Affairs called for my daughter (she hasn't lived here for 16 years) and said that her attorney should call as soon as possible.
