This is the first time the Microsoft scam has called me from this number, but they have called with several other numbers. I just say I don't own a computer. It's stupid/not believable but they hang up immediately.
They called wanting me to hit Windows-R and then type in eventvwr into the Run screen. Other sites have mentioned that these people are trying to access your computer remotely. Hang up.
Received a call from a guy with a heavy accent daying he was from Microsoft Windows. He said he was receiving error messages from the updates and he will walk me through how to fix it. He said all I need to do is go on my computer and he will read me some ID that shows up. I asked if he was selling virus software and he said no and repeated I had to be on my computer. I told him I wasn't getting on my computer until he tells me what he's going to do. He got frustrated and hung up.
