prank caller to an adult store asking stupid questions about condoms. Just HAD to tell me all about why he needed a 'large' size. Hung up on him, hasn't called back.
Received call from 213-286-4199 on our 800 number and could hear two young men in the background. Accented (fake British accent?) man asked for made up book titles that were slightly naughty sounding. The person on the extension was snickering and interrupting but that's not completely unusual if you work in a call center. Caller asked for what he called "x-rated books" with fake titles we don't carry. He said he was "pretty bored" and needed some "x-rated" titles. I checked inventory and said we didn't have them and referred him to our website to browse. At end of call there was a low groan and then they hung up. Pretty tame as far as pranks go but I think it's mostly the lack of reaction from this operator that took the wind out of their sails so to speak.
I've been getting calls every day from this # but like another poster they don't get through PBX, ... it is intriguing that someone used calling card pin to call India, because all the "support" folks at my PBX are Indian and have access to that information. It isn't uncommon for tech support to be outsourced to India, you think those kids care about the proper legal handling of sensitive customer information they are given access to? It is too strange that these calls have persisted for almost two weeks straight, every day, to all of these random people. This is something worse than one individual prank caller, no one has that kind of energy... more folks are involved. What [***], I wish they had some productive way to spend their time.
