213-289-5518 - Called my Cell phone number over 8 times just in the last 4 days. I was able to answer it this time, and it was a woman with a VERY heavy Middle Eastern accent. The call clearly came from a Call Center (Monkey with Scripts) as there was a LOT of background voices and noise, and I could hear various people in the background repeating the EXACT same "script" that she just said to me. She asked for me by my first two initials and my last name, which is always a dead giveaway that it's a SCAM. When I asked who was calling, she once again for me by my name. So, once again, I stated "May I please ask who is calling?" and then she proceeded to hang up on me. Seriously? This is how your company does business? Have no clue who they are, or what they want, but I will be reporting the call as Harassment, as this is not the first time they've called. They also clearly offer no Opt-out as well, as my Cell number is and has been on the DNC list since the beginning, and I don't use my initials for my name with Legitimate companies that I deal with.
I receive calls from representatives at my job requesting to speak to a person. They use the person's first and last name. When I advise that they are calling my business direct line and that is not my name, I offer to give them the main number so they can use the directory or speak with a receptionist. Everytime they ask if I can transfer them. I say "no, because I am not the receptionist...I can give you the main number", then they hang up. Its irritating to think I am answering the phone for legitimate work related business and offer to provide a number where they can be helped and then get hung up on.
