213-784-7913----This is a phone number used by elements of the Russian Mob in NY for their finance scams.
They want to rip you off then destroy your good credit rating. The best way to deal with this problem is to
ignore their calls. DO NOT PICK UP. They will go away after a few attempts to get your attention.
They don't leave a message and they don't identify themselves, even on their own answering voicemail. I called back with my caller ID off, which should work since it is not a toll free number. A recording says, Please hold while I try to connect your call." After a brief musical interlude, a recording says, "Please leave your number and we'll call you back," or something to that effect. I hung up. I don't leave my name or number if I don't know who I'm calling or didn't originate the call. What legitimate, reputable business doesn't provide the name of their organization when they answer their phone? (I called twice to verify this.) Something's fishy. This seems like a potential scam. At a minimum, it is an annoyance. If it is a legitimate organization, they are hurting themselves with these tactics. I'm blocking the number.
It's happening all the time. Different numbers and different days. Since I'm in a no call list, they do this so you call out of curiosity and then it's not an unsolicited call, but you called them and they cannot be reported. Just don't call back. If it's someone important, they'll call you back
I agree with Elgie. # shows up with no I.d., and no one picks up on calls back to it. Both are red flags this is a disreputable caller. Shame on them for wasting their lives making the world a worse place.
A lot of this type of callings are to see if anyone is home. I don't answer them. Whenever I get a call such as this one I look it up on this sight. If it's here, then it's not a number or business/individual you would want to talk to. Block the number if you can and then delete it.
