I got these peoples phone number looking for lifetime service. Now $450 less as they said they would call me back next day and take care off all my problems and clean out the many infections causing me to run slow.Never called back and tried to contact them through Dell and could not. Last four digets of acct I transfered money too 9145 Googled the phone number and came up with nothing but people who paid them and never got service
Caller said he was Felix Fernando from Microtec (Microtech?) Support. He suckered my wife into letting him direct connect to her computer. Told her he received from Microsoft, a list of people who were running Windows Xp and needed help fixing their computers. He then (allegedly) ran a scan on the computer and told her it was "54% compromised". Gave her a list of software she should be running on her computer and prices and told her he would give her all this support on their "Silver Plan" for a little less money. Then he started with, "By the way, are you a senior citizen?" (I sense another scam coming here, as if the first was not enough). He should never have called my number to begin with, as I am on two do-not-call lists. He is making false exaggerated claims about computers and othewise taking advantage of persons who are not knowledgeable about computers.
I just received a phone call from Mike Johnson from Microtec.com. He began asking questions about whether I use a Microsoft operating system and said they had received messages that my computer showed 14 instances of harmful files downloaded. I keep my protection up to date and haven't received any notices from my software so that brought up red flags for me. I told him I was skeptical and asked for his phone number to call back. He gave me this number: 239-247-5552. When I Googled the number, I got this page. I see there are conflicting posts. Some think they are wonderful, but many think it's a scam. So, what is it? Real or not. Maybe Microsoft could chime in on this and let us careful users know for sure.
