I just connected with a woman on Tinder named "Jenny" who said she resides in Queens, NY. She quickly asked for my phone number so can "continue this conversation on the phone I would like to get get to know you". She originally called from number 239-676-4133 (Florida), but didn't leave a voicemail but sent me a follow-up message to call her back at this number 239-400-0550.
I rec'd 2 texts to my Sprint PCS phone from an unknown # today from a 347 (New York) area code. I called that # back from a land line phone and rec'd no answer but IMMEDIATELY following, I began to get calls from this 239-400-0550 #. I attempted to block my # and call it back, but an automated message played informing me that I was trying to call a MAGIC JACK # and the caller would have to call me from that # first, which told me that I had to UNBLOCK my # and try again, which I did. The receiver of the call, answered the phone, calling me by my last name "Hello Miss 'Annoyed' how are you today?". I didn't say anything attempting to hear any kind of background noises (my phone was muted). After making several attempts to get me to respond, they hung up. I texted the 347 # back "MAGIC JACK PLUS" and am awaiting a response.
a person claiming to be Tom Addington, a London lawyer representing Terry Hudson in a South African business deal has used this number...it is a huge internet dating scam...neither is a real person
This number is associated with "magic jack," a computer application much like skype. Anyone can call you from wherever they are on from their computer and this phone number shows up. A friend called me on this line from her computer.
He was on a dating site and we talked for a month. Said he had to go to Dubai on business. He made up a sad story and wanted me to lend him 10k. He is middle eastern accent. To say the least. I did not lend him anything.
