Caller called to tell my dad that his grandson was involved in car wreck. Blood alcohol level was over legal limit. There were injuries. Negotiated bail of $15000 to 10% of that to avoid litigation. Send money to Florida. Problem for caller is that my son and I happened to be visiting for weekend. I was talking to "grandson" when call came in.
Person told me he was from Fed-Ex and that for paying my bills on time i won $1.5 million and that Donald Trump would be paying the money. He said I was the second place winner. He said his name was Peter Smith but clearly had an Indian accent. He also said he was calling from Nevada but caller ID said Fort Myers, Florida.
The number is from an app that is used when someone from a different country calls the US. It can be used harmlessly or for scams but the app uses the number to call over WiFi or data connections their not really in Florida.
