Charities, along with some Survey's and Political calls, are exempt from the DNC, however, they can still get into trouble for not placing you on a internal DNC when asked, you can also check your states laws in regards. Some states have different laws in regards to the calls, which can differ from the federal.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or less. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
Report your callers here if they continue to call and harass:
This company called me saying they were a survey company concerning fire alarms. I answered the lady's questions and then she proceeded to tell me I won a free in home system of some kind. I have a system already so I tried to tell her that and she hung up on me. The next day, the same lady called back and when I cut her off she became very unprofessional when I told her she hung up on me the day before, she said that I hung up on her and began to give me a lecture!!! I would love to know who this company is so I can complain to them directly!
Caller claims she is calling for a "fire safety survey".
I notified her of her violation of the Do Not Call Registry. She claimed that it was not a sales call. Told her that she may proceed on the condition that at no time will the call ever result in a financial transaction or even the request of one at any time.
She told me "I don't even care about you anymore and you can go to hXXX!"
How nice. The last time a telemarketer said something similar to me I was on national news a day later and getting apology letters from the firms attorneys. I think I just might be looking to make an example of these rodents again.
