I love it! I do the same thing when they call. I tell them I am Sheriff so & so and they called a crime scene. They will not need to cooperate with me by giving me information I need or the police will be sent to arrest them. It is a crime to not cooperate with the police in an investigation. What is your full name and complete address. What is you ss #, what is the complete name and address of the company you work for, and what is the complete name and address of the owner of the company. Usually, they hang up before getting this far.
Caller ID shows "Consumer Advocates"…….it's yet ANOTHER new number for the same old credit card scam call. I've kept track for the past few months. There are more than TWO DOZEN different numbers, with names like "Credit Card Relief," "Consumer Advocates," "People's Debt Relief," "Consumer Assistance"……..but they're all about the same crappy scam to reduce interest rates. These creeps should be hung out to dry.
Yep, another robo all wanting to get hold of my credit card numbers so they can go out and start purchasing on my credit. I am so sick and tired of these but yet we as conscientious consumers and concerned about our credit cannot do anything about it. The FCC is so damned concerned about who "we" call, text, etc. but they can't (won't) go after these people who have scammed people all over the country (world probably). I need my phone; and the cost to be able to block these numbers would double and triple my monthly cost for the phone. Besides, it's always a different number. I swear if I ever get another robo call from Bridgett I will crawl through the telephone line after her!
From another site: Spoofed Numbers: Caution, 302-212-1773 is a "spoofed" number, which means that whoever called you "tricked" your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number. Telemarketers do this so you cannot complain, but they failed... you can still file a complaint here to fight back against unethical telemarketers.
Call to home 2/24/16 5:08 p.m. Didn't recognize, didn't answer, no message left. Assume telemarketer.
