Just got this call, 10:51 EDT; 8/27/14. Guess its the latest spoofed scam robocall. Caller ID said SVC, which is meaningless to me, so I picked up/hung up w/o answering to break the call and, hopefully, discourage the robodialer from trying again. But was hoping to find out here what the scam IS for curiosity sake!
After a long pause a voice said "Don't hang up", since I always do what our robot overlords command I stayed on. It was a recorded sales pitch for a pain relief creme, I kid you not a real live snake oil salesman...well not live but you get it.
I never got to a person, I left the fun at "Press 1 to confirm your address" .
Hey, Thanks for 'biting' and being the 'guinea pig' to get that info. Curiosity satisfied!
I'm wondering why two intelligent people like us are among the first to get - or at least report - these calls. I have NEVER 'fallen' for any of these, usually don't answer, don't give out any info, and am not a 'sucker.' So why don't they give up on calling me???
