Sallie Mae is absolutely the worst company in this world to deal with. I co-signed a loan for a grandson and he is still in school, however they continue to harass and try to demand payments. They might as well stop because I will not pay them.
I have no loan with them and never heard of them. I am getting robo calls stating I have a message, do not hang up. Then the voice comes back telling to wait for the next available operator.
This is Sallie Mae. They never leave a message when using this number. If and when you do finally get a live human being they have no idea why you are calling them back and it takes them 10-15 minutes to have any information as to why they called in the first place. We have talked to someone numerous times(and never the same person) to put the loan in deferrment and no one seems to record any information on the account or they say that it will take about 3-5 days for the system to catch up. This is hogwash. No one ever seems to record any information, the people on the line are very impolite. Their website is no better when trying to confirm any information supposedly they tell you and never record payments that are legible. I would suggest that one never ever takes out a loan with Sallie Mae or whoever they are now calling themselves.
