I got the same email. I wrote back just because I was curious if they'd read it. I told them that I keep very thorough records and that I never have done business with the company they mentioned nor did I receive any previous communication. So, if they'd like me to report them for attempted extortion, I'd be happy to. I also told them, little did they know but I actually do crime insurance for financial institutions for a living (true!) and that I'm very familiar with the laws and I did not defraud anyone and if anyone was committing a crime, it was them. Who knows if they'll read it but it made me feel better writing it! Also, I hope these posts will help other people, so that they don't actually give these people money!

Just got the same email please see below.

Thank you for being our customer. This is the last notification e-mail in reference to your account with USA Pay Day Lenders. This is to notify you that after several phone calls and e-mails we were not able to get hold of you regarding this account. So as if now, this account goes to the further step. It could cost us both a great deal of time and money; you can avoid this by taking care of this now.

Just to remind you, this account is associated with a Pay day advance that you achieved with the company, the company when tried to extract the funds from your bank account as a repayment, the transaction were declined due to non-sufficient funds. It seems that you are not at all interested in making this debt good.

The next step is clearly defined. The total outstanding balance is $609.50. If you wish to take care of this debt, do revert back in the next 2 business days and call us now on +1-302.387.0028  and one of the Account officer will be helping you in regards to this matter. If you do not respond to this account, we are going to download the legal case and once the case is processed, and you are found guilty you have to bear a lawsuit which will be five times of your total debt amount and that will be excluding your attorney charges, affidavit charges and the total outstanding amount.

Regards,

USA Pay Day Lenders
+1-302.387.0028

I have been dealing with these guys who say to send the money via MoneyPak.  I told them I would send them a cashier's check over night if they give me an address as well as email the contract I supposedly signed.  We'll see what happens.  I owe them nothing, but I am going to see how far I can go.

Got the same message as above.  Will try a little scam bait to entertain myself and see if they take it.

I just received the same email for the amount of 795.56
Here's why I think it's a scam

1. It is from a gmail.com address. Sure tons of people use gmail, I do. But any legitimate business is going to use email with their own domain name ([email protected])
2. I have never received a phone call or email about this but they say they've notified me many times.
3. I don't think they can communicate threats like this via email (I could be wrong)
4. There is no information in the email that identifies me like my name, account number etc.
5. They thank me for being their customer.
6. The word "pay" in "Pay day advance" and "Violation" in #3 of their letter are capitalized and shouldn't be - its an error.
7. The line that says "if you wish to take care of this debt, do revert back in the next 2 business days". The word "revert" is used incorrectly. It sounds like they used an online English translator
8. Along those same lines, the phone number is written with a +1 in front, a sign that this is from overseas, where a lot of this type of deception, scams and fraud originates from.
