Amen to the comments that "DO NOT Call " list is a waste of taxpayers money. I have been on the list for the last 15 years and never had a day without an un-wanted and un-waranteed call !
They are a pain in my side. They do use various numbers to get through. I ask them who they are and they say a collection agency. They tell me about a debt I don't even have anymore. 5 years ago paid off to the company . I know they are pulling people credit reports and trying to collect and pocket the money. The debt is never paid.
Not sure who they are, but they call, leave no message. So to heck with them. The people that had the phone number before us must have left unpaid bills. I also suspect that the number was grand central station for several people because we get asked about several people. What a waste of their time, but hey let them waste it. Yep, this is a debt collector. This is the fourth phone number they've used to call me. They keep asking for someone named "Vanessa". I told them I've had this number for four years, I don't know anyone by that name, and to remove my number from their records. I even asked to speak to a supervisor, but they refused. My suggestion? Store the number with a "mute" ring tone, so it no longer interrupts your nice, quiet weekend!
