They left a voicemail on my cell phone saying they were Bank of America, calling about my recent inquiry. Left an 866 phone number to call back and their address.
I contacted Bank of America using a known phone number for them, and gave them the 866 number as well as the caller ID number from my cell phone. They confirmed that this is fraud in the making.
someone tried pulling that line of crap on me yesterday too. Saturday I applied for a line of credit on my favorite NFL team's website. Call left # message from BOFA. Soon as I called; immediately asked for SSI#. When I asked nature of call, said it was to complete my application. I denied any recent application w/ BofA, then he said there was no record of my application and that it must have been a mistake.
I got a call today from this number and when I answered the phone, there was no one there and then when I called the number back, it said that the number was disconnected or not in use anymore??? Strange....
