When I picked up the phone, the guy on the other side politely explained that due to low demand for home phones, Verizon decided to cut phone bill by 40%. But in order to do that, they need to verify some personal information. The guy became very angry by raising voice when I said that I will call Verizon. The guy was very demanding and insulting. The person ended the call by stating '[***] Off'. I don't usually get upset but that set me off. I called the number and the automated service sounded like, 'Weslet Communications' and gave a 800 number if I wanted to put it on do not call list. I am going to call Verizon as well.
I got a call from this number but it was listed as "Delaware Call." I let all such calls go to my answer system, but when I went to check the message or at least erase it, I found my phone was powered but not usable! I punched buttons trying to turn it off, hang up, make a phone call, check the message list, erase that, but nothing worked. I had to remove the back where the batteries are kept, pressing several numbers in the process, and then figured out that who ever called THEN hung up. If a caller calls you, but doesn't hang up, then your phone is not able to call out!! I put the battery back in place and was only then able to place a call if wanted to. Until then, NOTHING about the phone worked at all!!! I suspect that it might not have been an accident.
