Just got one a few seconds ago ... while the phone was ringing I googled the number to find this site ... thanks! Figured if it was legit I could call them back or they would leave a message.
Smooth female voice is very willing to assist me in reducing my interest rates - asks me to verify my address and DOB (verify? then why is she typing?) - she then asks me for the 16 digit VISA card number - I explain that I work for a major bank and that due to PCI compliance the information she has on me, combined with my card number gives her a street mark value of $X on my info - she started screaming at me "what he hell am I going to do with YOUR information" - I sited examples - she then called me a "f*ing idiot" and slammed the phone.
After repeated calls, I pressed 9 and asked how to be taken off their calling list. The rep said, "Call Batman." I asked how to reach him and he told me I would have to shine a light in the sky with a bat symbol. Of course I knew it was a scam, so I played along and told him my light shined a different symbol. When I asked what time zone he was in so I would know what would be the appropriate time to shine my light he hung up.
I just received one of these calls from 1-305-000-4296. Pressed 9 to inform them I'm on the Do Not Call list (also have an unlisted number). She had the nerve to say that "we'll be calling you back every day!" I called her a name I don't normally use and hung up.
