Automated machine offering to lower interest rate of credit card - press 9 to speak to a person - we did. He thanked us for calling - we informed him that his office called us - he went on to ask what credit cards we had and we told him he since they called us. He kept trying to get information on our cards and we said no thank you and hung up. A few seconds later our phone rang - same number on caller ID - the guy said "go xxxx your mother" and hung up on us. This is exactly what he said - state police said it is a scam and told us we were smart in not giving information. No legitimate business would allow their employees to talk this way and no individual should give any information to this number!
I did answer today @ 10:30 am and they asked for my husbandby name and when I asked who was calling they hung up. Caller ID showed Miami with the number. I did reverse look up on Smart Pages and found it was a unpublished land line no. We called back several times and after a long wait after dialing the message said this number is not in service or we would get a busy signal. We get charity calls at least 12x/wk and now they ask for my husband because I will not accept continuous calls for a pledge from the same charity when we don't mail a check shortly after-so perhaps it is another charity(a rude one!). I'm on a mission to get to the bottom of this and am calling all charitie's home offices who call and informing them to mail us only 1x and if we have money at the end of the year we will contribute. We tell them that on the phone but they ignore it. Today I called one of the charities and asked for only one mailing to save them money and were put on a NO CALL List. It's is sad that money from our "CHARITABLE donation" is spent on these persistant callers to pay for their continuous harassment and disrepect of our wishes! Doesn't make you feel too charitable does it?
I got a call from 305-000-6835. This is the 2nd time the call came in and both times I answered it, but this time I waited. They said my credit card was in good standing, but I should contact them as soon as possible so they could give me a lower interest rate, or hit 9 and someone would help me. I did that and finally someone came on and asked how they could help me. I told him you called me and I want my number removed from their call list. He immediately hung up on me.
Got a call today from this number.Did a search and found it to be from Florida.I did not answer the call.Can't figure how even with call block they got through to my cell phone
