I got a call from this numbers stating. The IRS filing lawsuit. Is this true or a scam

They called me I called back they said they was the irs

I used to work for the Internal Revenue Service.  If they were filing suit against you (which I doubt) you would have received written notice.  (SEVERAL).  They would not call and say "hey, we're suing you".  I got this same call and just blocked them.
