I too have been receiving these calls. I called my bank to verify the information they gave me and stated there were no such deposits on said date they stated. YES....this is a scam. And yes I got scared because they had all my information. I just keep auto rejecting all the calls.
Always very rude. Demands I pay by the end of the day. But keeps calling every day. I'm assuming it's a scam. They clai. To have a receptionist but demanding I pay by days end is fishy to me, especially because they only accept plastic.
Hi, I have been getting calls from several different numbers, this one included, saying that I owe money from a payday loan, which I never even applied for. They all tell me different amounts that I supposedly owe. I was told I owed $400 plus interest for a loan that I got in August of 2010. Another told my I owed $500 plus interest for a loan from January of 2010 and if I didn't pay I was going to go to court for bank fraud! How could I commit bank fraud?! I would have had to con people out of their money by telling them I was either working for a financial institution or owned one! If I did that then why the hell would I apply for a loan?! When I asked if I could have the address of where these loans were applied for they told me it was done online. When I told them I have never applied for any loans, they said well maybe it was someone you know or someone who got ahold of your information. If that was true then they would not have used my checking account number! I looked through all of my statements from that year as well as 2011 and did not find any deposits for a loan in any amount. Each number that called me was different and from different locations as well. What scared me the most was that they had my info: My previous home address, my social security number, the last four of my checking account number, even the last place I worked. I also looked on my credit report and found nothing about any default loans. This is nothing but a SCAM!!
Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:
One important thing to remember if these losers have any of your personal information such as your social security number, date of birth or drivers license make sure you register with identity protection notify the credit agencies as well as your banks!!

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
