I too have been receiving these calls. I called my bank to verify the information they gave me and stated there were no such deposits on said date they stated. YES....this is a scam. And yes I got scared because they had all my information. I just keep auto rejecting all the calls.
i have received 2 calls from this number in less than 10 minutes. It's important to note that real debt collectors know it is against the law to harass someone's place of business. If I owe the money, a real debt collector would forward the necessary documentation to my home. I'm not sure what else to do but file complaints with the FCC, and consumer fraud.
I have received a call from these people the number that called was 305-306-7306 but the number to return is 202-903-5400. First call was from a Kathy saying she was from RG Financial and I owe money from a payday loan. I was been charged with bank fraud. Second called was from a Tonya Sims, she said "I know you think this is a scam, but it's not". What debt collector would say that and then she had the nerd to say they can garnish half of my pay check. I laughed at her and hung up the phone. Don't have time to entertain them?
Note it's stating payday loan. Note in the state of florida and many other states they can not by law use legal matters to collect weather u owe or not. Second call an atty if they keep calling cause u can sue them... that is the law... once I went legal on them abt the fact they can't do this she hung up on me. But I don't owe anyone... so funny use 2 do this 4 a living and it's funny how they call people not knowing they know the law...
I just received a call today from (305)306-7306 at 8:30 pm. I answered because it was late and figured no business would be calling that late. The person on the other end asked for me and stated that he was from RG Financial. He began to ask what was the last 4 to my social to verify if I was me. I stated to him that I was not comfortable with providing that info because I did not know him or his company nor did business with them. He then started to get a little loud with me. So I told him I would look up his company while he was on the phone and the 1st thing that came up was scam. As I read that to him, he really got upset and told me do I believe everything that I read on the internet. The he proceeded to try to insult me by saying that I was a scam trying to scam a bank out of money that I owed from a loan in 2009. I then asked for some info to be sent to me and he said he didn't have to do that and he was doing me a favor by settling now, if not, it would be about 6-7 thousand dollars if we went to court. I advised him that I was not comfortable again and would have to do some research. He is expecting my call tomorrow to stop paperwork being sent to my home or place of business. I was a little scared, but thank you all for the info that has been provided. I feel better. Thanks.
My In-laws received a call from this number, 305-306-73306 (yes they confirmed it had an extra digit, my inlaws are in their 80's so they Joe probably thought is was funny). I called back without the extra 3 and asked for JOE HENY, he pretends to be a manager. He claims that my wife owed 1785 in a payday loan and he was sending this to civil court and he was going to have her wages garnished. I laughed at him, I said which is it? Can't do both? I said that's funny because how much are they going to garnish $10 bucks a paycheck? lol He didn't like that much and then he said "Well you jut tell your wife to wait 20 minutes because her HR is going to come and tap her on the shoulder and give her the bad news." Again I laughed, I said Joe, you don't even know where she works or what her phone number is you called my in-laws the last time she lived there was 25 years ago! He didn't like that very much and said I can find her address in 5 minutes on the internet...I laughed again, Joe, you don't know where she lives now, you don't know where she works I guess the 20 minutes is out the window! Finally I stopped laughing and I did what someone told me to do years ago tell them you are in Bankruptcy. I said Joe, FYI any payday loan you claim she took out went through a Chapter 7 so legally you have to speak to my lawyer and since I informed you of this and you have recorded this phone call the only thing left to do is give you her address and phone number....HE HUNG UP! Can't say I am surprised...it bugs me that people like this make money off of people that don't know better...or worse yet scare the elderly...low life [***].
