One purpose in harassing you may be that the caller has an arrangement for "kickbacks" of sorts with a non-scrupulous phone company which your phone company is mandated to pay for the caller ID information provided. The caller makes tens of thousands of calls, the bogus phone company collects fees for providing caller ID info for those calls, and then that phone company splits part of the caller ID proceeds back to the caller which pays them for making the tens of thousands of calls. So, if that is the situation, they make money regardless of whether or not they talk to anybody. If they do find somebody unsuspecting and naive enough to provide credit card information to them; then that is icing on their cake, so to speak.
At any rate, it isn't a company wanting to do business (i.e., provide a product or service); but scammers wanting to rip-off anybody they can, at best.
The callers are the drug-addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies, in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers, so they can rip us off. People that have given their card number to these junkies have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these lowlifes, and warn others, before they are cheated!
This scam message said press 9 if you wanted to talk to a representative about lowering your credit card interest rate. I pressed 9 and asked the representative why they called me while I'm on the "Do not call" list. He said to me, " Then why did you press 9, you idiot" I wish we could sue these people.
Those that press 9 will be connected to one of the card service lowlife druggie scammers! They're up early on this weekend day, and are always happy to rip us off, in order to support their addictions!
