WARNING--BEWARE!! These callers are B I G credit card criminals, known as the card service scammers. Under NO circumstances give your credit card number to these lowlifes, or you will regret it forever!
Also, many older individuals aren't familiar with new technology. They don't realize that a scammer can easily fake the ID as the IRS, the police, or whomever else they wish. They have no idea that the scammer is likely sitting in India, Nigeria, Jamaica, or some other fraud hotbed. Often, they also don't understand just how cheap it is for scammers to call long distance, since it cost a fortune in the old days. They also may not know just how much personal information is available on them and their family with just a few clicks of the mouse. Technology moves rapidly these days, and those who don't keep up with it are, sadly, ripe for the picking.
Didn't pick up. Annoyingly, the voicemail picked up but no message.
Like many here, I won't answer unless I recognize the caller id or phone number. Still, each of these many calls is an interruption. Dealing with the blank voicemails is an interruption. Annoyed.
I am an elderly lady living in Florida. I received a call from this number today, Sep 16, 2014. They didn't leave a message but the number appeared on my caller ID. When I looked up this number I see they are scammers so I blocked them. I guess it's a good idea if a call comes in from an unknown number let it go to voice mail, you can always call back.
This call is from "Lisa, regarding your credit card account." This is the same scam as the Rachel scam. I have reported the number to the Do Not Call Registry site. It's unlikely that reporting them will be of help but, it made me feel better.
