No one can be legally served by phone, fax, email, text message, or even smoke signals.
This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, etc. all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Said he was calling to serve me - I asked if he could call me back because I was driving - he said he couldn't because he was calling from a "dialer" - I kept asking him what & who was he calling in regards to? - he just kept saying "you have been served" - I asked for his name and he hung up on me ...

Just had this number call me asking if there will be someone to accept legal papers on behalf of my mother. They hung up before i could ask anything else.
This number called me, and after about 5 seconds of silence hung up. Looking it up online shows its from Florida and judging by other comments on here, it appears to have been a scam number.
Well, let me start out with 305-600-3814 has called my wife numerous times stating that there is a claim against MY mother. They told my wife to inform her and gave her a 844-620-8850 number to call. First off, don't call my wife regarding issues that deal with my mom... you need someone to talk to, I'm here for you. Call me and let me know! I call the number and asked this guy to stop calling my wife to call me if there is any issues. I simply asked for a name and what his business was... he hung up ratherly quickly! I called back, asked for a name and supervisor. He replied,"Samuel Jones" and he is the "owner" of the company. Then he said i was harassing because I called them twice when they have been calling my wife daily for the past month... He told me to "have a nice life" and hung up. I would like to meet this guy by the tree line for an ole fashion a$$ whoopin'!!! I think I have anger issues after tours overseas... Neh, just don't like people trying to steals other individuals private information just so they can get by while others work hard to make a living...
